Don’t be a people pleaser!

This is a lesson I feel God has been teaching me. For so long I always tried to make sure everyone was happy, and in doing that, I became quite miserable. It’s important to set boundaries and be able to say a healthy no, and not become a yes man, just to make sure we don’t hurt anyone’s feelings, and worry what others will think, or if they will be disappointed in us. The only one we really need to worry about pleasing is Jesus. If we do that, you’ll find that everything else takes care of itself, and you’ll find a Joy and Peace come over you. So I challenge you to do that. Don’t let others attitudes control your happiness, choose Joy! It’s our responsibility to do that. We can’t control other people and their attitudes, BUT we can control ours. Don’t be a people pleaser, rather a Jesus pleaser! However this finds you, I hope it speaks to you, and helps you! Be blessed!

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. (‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ NLT)

DON’T BE THE TURTLE!

This world can be so cold and bitter. Filled with people who are broken and can be so rude, ungrateful, selfish, and can make you feel so downgraded. God speaks to me in so many ways, a lot of times with illustrations, with the weather, and through trees, or even in the sky, but this time he used animals.

So I wanted to share with you what he showed me!

A Turtle for instance who likes to stay inside of his shell, and sometimes, when he works up enough courage he will poke his head out. But if something out there scares him, or gets to him, he’s quick to go back into his shell. I remember when I was younger, I had two turtles as pets, when I would pick them up to play with them, they would tuck back in their shell, I think because the size I was to them. A lot of times I feel this is us to the size of our problems.

” Don’t tell God how big your problems are, tell your problems how big your God is. ”

I feel like God showed me, a lot of times I can be like a turtle. When I get my feelings hurt, and life is tough, or if I’m going through a rough season, I just like to go back in my shell, and wait for it to pass. Maybe you have dreams and goals and because of what people have said to you, they have caused you to go into your shell (your safe place), to wait until it passes over, and it’s safe to go out again.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ NLT)

Another animal is a Lion who is strong and brave, and who a lot of other animals fear. He has a great roar and can be heard for miles. He hunts after his prey.

I feel God is wanting me and you to be more like the lion, who is strong and brave! Who doesn’t let his prey ( our problems, struggles) scare him, but rather he hunts them down and eats them for lunch!

I love the one line from the song “Like a Lion” by Daniel Bashta.

Our Gods not dead, He’s surely alive, living in the inside, roaring like a lion. ”

God has called us to be like the Lion, he wants us to walk Strong in our faith, and in what He has called us to do. Knowing we have Him living inside of us! You know we serve a BIG and MIGHTY God! So roar at your problems, insecurities, the things that beat you up in life!

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬ NLT)

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of living life like a turtle! I think it’s time we live life like the Lion!

Letting Go.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

I’ve been going through a rough season in my life, one with challenges and growth. But today someone dear to me sent me the verse above, that really spoke to me, and was such a word of encouragement. So thankful, that I can cast my anxiety, worries, fear, problems, and all of life’s chaos on the one True king, Jesus Christ! It’s so encouraging to know that the creator of the universe cares for me!

You know the process isn’t easy, I mean you read the scripture and your like, ok, so just give it to Him and it all goes away, instantly. Well, when we let fear, worry, and the problems in life, take control over our life and bog us down, the healing may not come right away. But, that DOESNT mean God isn’t caring for us! He loves us and wants the best for us! His timing is perfect, even when we aren’t sure of things. Remember, we walk by faith not by sight. I don’t know all the answers to why all these bad things happen to us, except for that we live in a fallen world, one where the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. But, where God comes to bring life and to bring it more abundantly!

So I guess the biggest lesson I’m trying to learn is trust. I sit and read over these blogs that I have wrote, and I feel like these are directly to me and what I need to hear and practice. The one true thing I do know, and what I hold onto is, God is the solution to all of our problems, and the answer to all of questions! He knows best, and he loves you and I more than we know, so we have to hold onto that hope, that God has everything under control.

I pray that you are having a blessed week, thus far!

God is fighting for us!

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. “See, all your angry enemies lie there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing. You will look in vain for those who tried to conquer you. Those who attack you will come to nothing. For I hold you by your right hand— I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭10-13‬ NLT)

It is so encouraging to know that God is fighting for us, and that He is there for us! Is there some people who maybe you fear? Maybe your boss? A co-worker? Neighbor? Family member? Or maybe even government officials? Well this verse, is so encouraging! It assures us that God is there to strengthen us, and to lift us up, from the fear we have from our enemies. Even when we feel like there’s nothing we can do, just know God is there for you, and working behind the scenes. God is GREATER than everyone and everything. So there’s No need to worry. Put your Trust in Him, knowing that He has you in the Palm of His hand and keeping you from your enemies.

So don’t give up, next time you see that person, don’t fear them. Know that you have Jesus there for you, and as long as you have Him, everything will be okay! However this passage finds you, I pray that God will give you a peace and assurance of his comfort. Always remember, Jesus loves you!

God is Always there!

God can be whatever you need Him to be, whenever you need him to be!

You have sadness? He can be your Joy! You have anxiety, worry, fear? He can be your peace! You have confusion? He can be your Clarity! Feeling weak? He can be your strength! Loneliness? He can be your comfort? Financial struggles? He can bring financial breakthrough! Maybe a bad relationship? He can heal, and restore!

If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. (‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭8-10‬ NLT)

I love this passage of scriptures! It shows that God is always there! He knows where we are and what situation we are in! He is who He says He is! He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever! Just simply call upon the powerful name of Jesus!

What do you need Him to be for you today?

Psalms 138:3

“As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.”

Psalms 138:8

“The Lord will work out His plans for my life- for Your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”

Today, these verses have been on my heart. Through hard seasons sometimes we do not understand why they happen. We keep asking “God, what am I supposed to be learning here?” or “Why is this happening?” or even just “I simply just do not understand how I am supposed to face this.” When I read these verses, I was reminded that we go through things to learn the good that comes out of the bad. God allows to go through hard times so that we learn to lean on His love and constantly reminded that He is our strength and we can only make it because He’s here…

The battle is on…

” Sometimes the hardest war to fight, is the fight to be yourself, when the voices inside your head, try to turn you into the someone else. ”
Switchfoot

You ever feel the little voices in your head defeat you? For instance, I’m not good enough, I can’t do this, I’m not an overcomer, I’m ugly, this person can do this so much better than me.
It’s time you tell those voices to stop! Next time they say you can’t, tell them you can! Your not good enough? Yes, You are good enough! You can overcome you struggles! Your an Overcomer!
Why? Because you were made in Gods image! Because, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13) Because, He that lives In me is great that he that lives in this world. Because, With God all things are possible. (Luke 1:37)
Satan likes to work with perceptions and we can take things the wrong way, sometimes we let our flesh let us down and confuse us. But we have to begin to think positive thoughts ones that we know God thinks about us.
I guess what I’m trying to say is there is a war going on for our mind, a battle if you say. God has so much for us, and great plans in store for us, but the enemy loves to distract us and keep is where we are at. And make us feel like we’re such terrible people. But remember it’s lies from the enemy!
So the next time you feel the negative voices coming on, FIGHT BACK! Fight back with Truth! God loves you so much! And wants you to know that!! You have value to God! You mean something to him! Your his child!
